SHEETFED
CTP Packaging, a focused carton packaging producer, uses state- of -the- art litho and gravure, die-cutting and gluing equipment to offer a highly cost effective service to its clients.
CTP Packaging renders a flexible, turnkey carton production and printing service in-house for well defined markets.
It produces folding cartons, labels, blister and skin pack cards particularly for the food, health, cosmetics, soft-drink and cigarette industries.
It was one of the first packaging printers in SA to install advanced Roland 700 Series printing presses. Simultaneously, CTP installed state-of-the-art die-cutting pre-makeready equipment.
The new equipment allows CTP Packaging to produce for all sizes of clients and to compete with the historic leaders in the carton production industry.
Use of the new machines immediately resulted in 40% quicker turn-around time on packaging assignments. Advanced computerisation throughout the factory resulted in the ability to "work smarter" on individual jobs. The factory achieved an ISO 9002 rating in 1996.
The cost-effectiveness of CTP Packaging's equipment allows for pricing to be competitive. CTP Packaging's service includes conceptualisation and design by both in-house and external artists. These artists are specialised in various sectors of industry - like food and beverages. They undertake both graphic design and design of boxes.
Specialised experience in packaging, with its multiple shapes, creases, folds and cuts is essential. CTP Packaging can produce almost any shape of box using their advanced equipment.
CTP Packaging offers a wide variety of board types and grades, both local and imported.
Another speciality which CTP Packaging offers, is foil stamping.
CTP Packaging counts among its clients:
GRAVURE The high tech gravure division division at Malvern, Johannesburg epitomises high-precision print technology. The division uses state of the art equipment, an automated, all in one printing system.
Bulk rolls of paper or board are fed through multi-colour printing and drying processes at high speed before the printed material is embossed, creased, die-cut or guillotined in-line for final distribution.
This core technology was enhanced during the year with the commissioning of an automated, high speed Blumer cutting, punching and banding machine.
The division's bulk production is concentrated in two precision packaging areas: beverage bottle labels and cigarette packs. While being volume-intensive to ensure cost-effective packaging solutions for budget-conscious customers, the sophisticated gravure process requires a masterly touch and the most stringent quality management
